Welcome Home, Mimi!

In November, Mom went to the States. She left with David and Jolene, who had come for the annual Christmas banquet; she stayed with them until their Baby Micah James was born. Then, she traveled to several churches, was invited to speak at many banquets and ladies’ conferences; she spent time with my brother, Joel and his family and with my sister, Elizabeth and her family (who were in the States as well).

How we all missed Mom while she was gone! Mom has such a big part in the ladies’ ministries here in the church; and she is a wonderful Mimi to the children and a fun-loving mother-in-law; and beloved to all who know her! She was greatly missed while she was gone!

Mom was gone for six months, and six months seems like a long time when you miss someone, doesn’t it? She returned on May 31…She drove into our gate at 3:35 on that Tuesday afternoon. The moment we had all been looking forward to for so long finally arrived!

Now we feel that all is back to normal. “Thank You, Lord, for the privilege I have of being so close to my mother. Thank you for the blessing she is as a mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, and Christian!”

At our monthly Ladies' Prayer Breakfast, last Wednesday,
we gave Mom a welcome-home reception.

The Lord Hath Done Great Things!

Recently, the Lord has allowed me and my husband to be involved in some new ministries in the church. We are so excited about getting to serve the Lord together.
Along with a sweet couple in our church, Wilber and Yessica, my husband has started bringing some little Indian children to church. It has been such a blessing to watch these children come and to see their excitement at being able to attend church. Please pray that we can show the love of Christ to these children, and that they will all be saved!

The church members have all been working very hard to raise money to pay for our church land. The ladies have made and sold pastries, tamales, dinners and other things; the men have also worked hard to raise money.

Three weeks ago, the land papers were signed when the last payment was made on the church land. What a blessing! So on Sunday, June 12, after the morning service, we all went up to the land that the church has purchased and we had a time of thanksgiving and prayer.

Afterward, we had a cook-out and played ball games. It was a very fun time of fellowship. Here are some photos I took while we were our there.

Liz’s birthday was on Saturday, June 11, and on Sunday evening after church, we surprised her with a cake and gifts.

The Birthday Lady....Doesn't she look great?!

About 2 months ago, a dear lady in our church (Catalina) who sells chicken at the market told me about a lady whose name is Ana Luisa who comes to her stand to buy chicken. Ana Luisa has a baby who has a heart murmer and who needs to have surgery. The surgeon has scheduled her surgery twice, but on the day appointed for the surgery, the baby has had a fever. We went to visit Ana Luisa and to pray for the baby two times. Two weeks ago, we went and invited Ana Luisa to our monthly ladies' prayer breakfast, and we were thrilled to see her come! She also came to our Wednesday evening service and WAS SAVED! We are rejoicing! Please pray for Ana Luisa and her family, and for the health of Baby Lupita.
